Monday 7/25/2030: Gotham's Roy wins Player of the Week award
The Player of the Week award in the Pacific League goes to Abashiri's Zahra Aktar* this time, as the first baseman displayed the best offensive perfomance in his league. He hit .650 with 6 RBI and slugged .950 in 20 at bats. He got at least one hit each game this week and is on a 17 game hitting streak right now. Aktar* has walked 20 times this year and posts a .409 OBP. While batting .361, 133 for 368, he has driven in 64 runs. He's 1st in the Pacific League in batting and 4th in RBI! John Roy from Gotham wins his 4th Player of the Week award for putting up the best numbers this week in the Atlantic League. In 23 at bats he hit .391 with 4 HR and 12 RBI. Wednesday 7/20/2030: Julius Delevaga out for 8 weeks
BATON ROUGE - Baton Rouge's season has taken a hit after one of their best players, rightfielder Julius Delevaga, injured himself while rounding a base. He is likely to miss 8 weeks. Doctors examined him after the game and diagnosed a Pulled Anterior Cruciate Ligament which will require surgery. His season numbers are: .300 AVG, 96 hits, 22 doubles, no triples and 6 bombs, along with 44 RBI and 37 runs scored.
 
Monday 7/18/2030: Abashiri's Adelhyde* wins Player of the Week award
Cecilia Lynn Adelhyde* wins his 1st Player of the Week award. Pacific League pitchers couldn't figure out how to retire this guy all week long. Adelhyde* helped his team with an average of .550 and 4 RBI in 20 at bats. Josey Wales from Baton Rouge wins his 6th Player of the Week award for putting up the best numbers this week in the Atlantic League. Josey pounded opposing pitchers, hitting .375 with 3 HR and 6 RBI while slugging 1.063.
 
Friday 7/15/2030: Louisiana's Green out for 5 weeks
LOUISIANA - Louisiana's David Green suffered a serious injury Friday in a game against Gotham. Green fell down while running the bases and couldn't get up without help. He will miss probably 5 weeks. Pulled Back Muscle was the diagnosis after x-rays were taken in a nearby hospital. The message shocked teammates and team officials. His season numbers are: .267 AVG, 100 hits, 18 doubles, 7 triples and 15 taters, along with 58 RBI and 74 runs scored.
 
Monday 7/11/2030: Vazquez (ORL) and Kanan* (LOU) win P.O.W. award
Manuel Vazquez from Orlando wins his 15th Player of the Week award for putting up the best numbers this week in the Pacific League. In 22 at bats he hit .409 with 3 HR and 11 RBI. Laurana Kanan* from Louisiana wins his 1st Player of the Week award for putting up the best numbers this week in the Atlantic League. Kanan* helped his team with an average of .435 and 4 RBI in 23 at bats. While compiling an on base percentage of .358, Laurana hit .285 and slugged .465. He has collected 32 runs batted in this year.
 
Monday 7/4/2030: Austin's Stokes wins Player of the Week award
The Pacific League's best player of the week was Abashiri's Koharu Hotta*, who wins the award for the 1st time in his career. Koharu was on fire, hitting .448 with 1 HR and 10 RBI. This year Hotta* drove in 15 and scored 6 runs while batting .338 with one bomb. The Atlantic League's best player of the week was Austin's James Stokes, who wins the award for the 4th time in his career. James was on fire, hitting .400 with 3 HR and 12 RBI.
 
Friday 7/1/2030: Gotham's Fuu* named Pitcher of the Month
Cindy Simpson* pitched like a legend in June, and the Pacific League named him Pitcher of the Month for his extraordinary performance. He struck out 46 hitters in his 7 starts, putting together a record of 5-1 while pitching 46 innings. His ERA in June was 1.90. In 20 starts this year Cindy struck out 133 batters in 142.1 innings of work. His ERA is 2.09, his record 14-4. He's 1st in the Pacific League in ERA and 1st in wins! Kasumi Fuu* couldn't have pitched much better than he did in June, and the Atlantic League thought so as well, naming the lefty Pitcher of the Month. His ERA of just 1.80 helped him to a 5-0 record in June. He worked 45 innings, striking out 37 hitters while walking 3. Kasumi also fired a shutout. Opposing players hit .222 against Kasumi this season. While posting an ERA of 2.18 he went 9-2 in 17 starts, fanning 104 and walking 12 hitters. He has one complete game and one shutout. He's 1st in the Atlantic League in ERA and 6th in wins!
 
Friday 7/1/2030: Batter of the Month award winners announced
Motoko Kusanagi* of Abashiri wins his 1st Batter of the Month award for putting up the best numbers in the Pacific League. Kusanagi* helped his team with an average of .452 and 22 RBI in 84 at bats. Kusanagi* has hit for a .318 average this season. He has 35 extra base hits along with 145 total bases, resulting in a .518 slugging percentage. He's 8th in the Pacific League in batting and 1st in RBI! The Atlantic League Batter of the Month award goes to Daisy Lazy*, Kansas' starting designated hitter. He had an on base percentage of .412 and hit .358, while driving in 25 runs. While compiling an on base percentage of .440, Daisy hit .364 and slugged .625. He has collected 70 runs batted in this year. He's 1st in the Atlantic League in batting, 1st in homeruns and 2nd in RBI!

The Pacific League's best player of the week was Abashiri's Motoko Kusanagi*, who wins the award for the 2nd time in his career. In 26 at bats he hit .538 with 1 HR and 6 RBI. The Player of the Week award in the Atlantic League goes to Austin's Quan Cosby this time, as the shortstop displayed the best offensive perfomance in his league. Thursday 6/23/2030: William Bonney punishes Chillicothe with three dingers
CHILLICOTHE - Indianapolis beat Chillicothe 10-5, but that was not the real story of the game. William Bonney was, as he went deep three times. His 1st shot, off Teal'c Jaffa in the 1st inning, was a two-run homerun and cleared the fence in left-center. His 2nd shot, a solo homerun off Mordred Deschain in the 6th inning, cleared the fence in center field. His 3rd blast, a three-run homerun off Erin Ballard in the 9th inning, landed an estimated 386 feet from home plate. William stroked 4 hits in 4 AB, doubling once, scoring three times and collecting 6 RBI. On 6/14/2030, Spencer Parks was the last player to hit 3 dingers in a single game.
 
Monday 6/20/2030: Aktar* (ABA) and Parks (LOU) win P.O.W. award
Abashiri's designated hitter Zahra Aktar* had some reason to celebrate, as the league named him the Pacific League Player of the Week. Friday 6/17/2030: Maxine Hunkel* hits for the cycle against Austin
AUSTIN - Abashiri's centerfielder Maxine Hunkel* accomplished a difficult feat in a game against Austin, hitting for the cycle to improve his career batting average to .305! His 1st hit was a triple off Jordan Shipley in the 1st inning. A single in the 2nd off Jordan Shipley accounted for his 2nd hit. His 3rd hit, off Thomas Lemire in the 4th inning, was a two-run homerun and cleared the fence in right field. A single in the 6th off Limas Sweed accounted for his 4th hit. Number 5 in the 8th inning accounted for a RBI double. That drive completed the cycle, causing a smile on his face! Maxine scored 2 runs, and he collected 4 RBI as well! He's having a very good season so far, batting .340. 50 players in league history have so far hit for the cycle, including Maxine. Tom Lafferty was the last player to hit for the cycle, doing it 4/14/2030.
 
Wednesday 6/15/2030: Jesse Norman dominates Toronto, gives up just 2 hits
TORONTO - With his best stuff going, Baton Rouge's Jesse Norman overmatched the opposing hitters all day long. Toronto had no chance, collecting just 2 hits against the right-hander. 'Well, the ball went where I wanted it. I was able to hit the corners with all of my pitches.' Norman (4-4) was overpowering, fanning 11 while walking 4, throwing 134 pitches. The hitting star for Baton Rouge was leftfielder Josey Wales, he collected 3 hits in 5 trips to the plate, hitting a homerun, doubling once, scoring three times and collecting 3 RBI. Baton Rouge improved its record to 37-28, scoring 8 runs on 18 hits.
 
Tuesday 6/14/2030: Montana has no chance in a 2-hitter by Jade Nguyen*
MONTANA - Good things can happen when you throw strikes. And Jade Nguyen* did so today, in a 2-hit shutout against Montana. 'Wow, what a nice day. I guess I had a good breakfast today.' Nguyen* (5-6) struck out 3 and issued 4 BB, throwing 55 of 103 pitches for strikes. Vera Black* provided Gotham with the offense Nguyen* needed as he got 2 hits in 4 AB, blasting a homerun, hitting a double, scoring twice and driving in 2 runs. Gotham improved its record to 38-26, scoring 8 runs on 14 hits.
 
Tuesday 6/14/2030: Spencer Parks homers three times against Dodge City
DODGE CITY - Spencer Parks beat Dodge City, but he did it without mercy, playing like a one man wrecking crew. Louisiana's catcher slugged three homeruns, once again proving that he is among the elite sluggers. A 426 foot drive to left-center marked his 1st bomb, a two-run homerun off Hal Jordan in the 1st inning. His 2nd blast, a solo homerun off Hal Jordan in the 3rd inning, landed an estimated 432 feet from home plate. A pitch from Bill Ciotti in the 8th inning left his bat for a solo homerun, landing 422 feet from home plate in center field. It tied the ballgame at 6. Spencer got 4 hits in 5 AB, with three runs scored and collecting 4 RBI. So far this season he is batting .256 with 12 homers and 41 RBI. Romeo Maestas was the last player to hit 3 homeruns in a game, doing it 5/4/2030. The final score of the game was 8-6.

Friday 6/10/2030: James Stokes stars with 2000th career hit
MONTANA - Austin's James Stokes showed a smile on his face after he got his 2000th career hit against Montana on Friday. His hit in the 6th inning was a single off David Smathers. Along with his 2000 hits, James collected 233 homeruns and 1073 RBI in 14 seasons. 'I'm out of words. I'll probably realize it tomorrow, but for now I'm done.'
 
Monday 6/6/2030: Glasgow's Delariva wins Player of the Week award
Glasgow's centerfielder Matthew Delariva had some reason to celebrate, as the league named him the Pacific League Player of the Week. Matthew pounded opposing pitchers, hitting .455 with 3 HR and 9 RBI while slugging .909. Benji Quintero from Indianapolis wins his 3rd Player of the Week award for putting up the best numbers this week in the Atlantic League. In 27 at bats he hit .481 with 2 HR and 4 RBI. This year Quintero drove in 23 and scored 50 runs while batting .317 with 8 bombs.
 
Wednesday 6/1/2030: Pitcher of the Month award winners announced
Cindy Simpson* pitched like a legend in May, and the Pacific League named him Pitcher of the Month for his extraordinary performance. He went 6-0 in May and finished the month with an ERA of 1.87. He struck out 52 in 53 innings. Cindy has a record of 9-3 this season, with an ERA of 2.19. In 90.1 Innings he was able to strike out 87 batters. He's 1st in the Pacific League in ERA and 1st in wins! The best month of May in the Atlantic League certainly had Louisiana's southpaw Ernesto Diaz, earning him the Pitcher of the Month award. He went 5-0 in May and finished the month with an ERA of 1.27. He struck out 27 in 42.2 innings. In 9 starts this year Ernesto struck out 38 batters in 61 innings of work. His ERA is 1.92, his record 7-0. He's 1st in the Atlantic League in ERA and 3rd in wins!
 
Wednesday 6/1/2030: Orlando's Vazquez earns Batter of the Month award
The Pacific League's best player of the month was Orlando's Manuel Vazquez, who wins the award for the 5th time in his career. Manuel was on fire, hitting .288 with 12 homeruns and 29 RBI. He has hit 14 taters while batting .232 this season. His 42 hits and 28 walks add up to a .340 on-base percentage. He's 3rd in the Pacific League in RBIs and 1st in homeruns! The Atlantic League's best player of the month was Boston's Jim Beam, who wins the award for the 2nd time in his career. Jim was on fire, hitting .353 with 9 homeruns and 23 RBI. Beam has hit 14 taters this year while batting .302. He adds 10 doubles, along with 34 runs scored. He's 6th in the Atlantic League in RBIs and 1st in homeruns!

It's the 14th time that the Pacific League Player of the Week award goes to Orlando's centerfielder Manuel Vazquez. In 27 at bats he hit .333 with 4 HR and 9 RBI. The Atlantic League's best player of the week was Kansas' Paul Muad'Dib, who wins the award for the 3rd time in his career. Paul went 11 for 29 (.379), while hitting 4 HR and collecting 13 RBI. He now has homered in 4 consecutive games as well!
 
Thursday 5/26/2030: Atelier Iris* (ABA) will miss 7 weeks
ABASHIRI - Abashiri is without its ace Atelier Iris* for at least 7 weeks. He injured himself while throwing a pitch to Sammy Terry in a game against Century City. His face showed signs of pain immediately after the ball left his hand. Abashiri wasted no time and rushed him to an hospital. Team officials were informed later that Iris* had suffered a Torn Tricep Muscle. In 13 starts this year Atelier struck out 74 batters in 74.2 innings of work. His ERA is 2.89, his record 7-4. He's 6th in the Pacific League in ERA and 2nd in wins!
 
Monday 5/23/2030: Gladia Delmarre* socks five hits for Kansas
ORLANDO - Kansas' rightfielder Gladia Delmarre* accomplished a difficult feat in a 13-3 win over Orlando, drilling five hits to improve his career batting average to .299! A pitch from Carl Mays in the 7th inning left his bat for a double. His 4th hit, a three-run homerun off Guy Gardner in the 8th inning, landed an estimated 430 feet from home plate. His 5th hit was a RBI double off Guy Gardner in the 9th inning. He collected singles in the 1st inning and in the 4th (one RBI). Gladia scored 4 runs, and he collected 5 RBI as well! This season has been a good one for him so far, as he has 63 hits in 178 at bats, resulting in a .354 batting average. Kansas improved its record to 30-17, scoring 13 runs on 16 hits.
 
Monday 5/23/2030: Abashiri's Aktar* wins Player of the Week award
It's the 4th time that the Pacific League Player of the Week award goes to Abashiri's designated hitter Zahra Aktar*. In 27 at bats he hit .481 with 0 HR and 7 RBI. Zahra is hitting .364 this year, with 60 hits in 165 at bats. He has driven in 30 runs, slugging .521. He's 2nd in the Pacific League in batting and 2nd in RBI! The Atlantic League's best player of the week was Kansas' David Ragsdale, who wins the award for the 1st time in his career. David went 2-0 with an ERA of 0.53, while fanning 13 in 17 innings of work. He hurled a shutout as well.

KANSAS - David Ragsdale took the mound and never left. And Montana hitters couldn't touch him at all. Kansas' right-hander gave up just one hit in his 2nd shutout of the season. He now has 6 career shutouts in 75 games started. 'I really like to play baseball, and I love the way I was able to play it today.' Ragsdale (6-2) struck out 9 and issued 1 BB, throwing 64 of 106 pitches for strikes. Gladia Delmarre* helped Ragsdale at the plate, he collected 2 hits in 4 trips to the plate, stroking a double. Kansas scored 2 runs on 5 hits.
 
Wednesday 5/18/2030: Inoue Orihime* out for 6 weeks
KANSAS - Kansas is without its left-hander Inoue Orihime* for at least 6 weeks. He injured himself while throwing a pitch to Rem Savarem* in a game against Abashiri. His face showed signs of pain immediately after the ball left his hand. After being examined by several specialists the diagnosis is clear: Ruptured Tricep Tendon. This season Orihime* compiled an ERA of 4.35, going 3-1 in 9 starts. He fanned 36 while giving up 56 hits in 60 innings.

Montana's pitcher Rene Egger had some reason to celebrate, as the league named him the Pacific League Player of the Week. He was in a zone all week, compiling an ERA of 2.51 while going 2-0. The Atlantic League Player of the Week award goes to Daisy Lazy*, Kansas' starting designated hitter. He hit .478 with 8 RBI and slugged .783 in 23 at bats. Saturday 5/14/2030: Adrian Veidt shuts out Boston on 2 hits
BOSTON - It was a great day for Orlando's southpaw Adrian Veidt. The 25-year old recorded his first career shutout, a 2-hitter, against Boston on Saturday. 'I was able to keep´em off balance. That certainly helped.' Veidt (1-4) fanned 3 and walked 2, throwing 114 pitches. Kevin Edwards provided Orlando with the offense Veidt needed as he went 1 for 2, homering once, scoring two runs and driving in 2 runs. The final score of the game was 3-0.
 
Friday 5/13/2030: Kansas' Roslin* out for 4-5 weeks
KANSAS - When it rains, it pours. Kansas' right-hander Laura Roslin* will not pitch for at least 4-5 weeks, handing the team a huge setback. He suffered a serious injury in a game against Glasgow where he left the field in the 7th inning. After x-rays were taken the diagnosis did not surprise many: Bone Chips Elbow. Surgery will be performed next week. Opposing players hit .326 against Laura this season. While posting an ERA of 4.87 he went 2-1 in 0 starts, fanning 7 and walking 8 hitters.
 
Monday 5/9/2030: Dodge City's Cash wins Player of the Week award
Benito Cash from Dodge City wins his 2nd Player of the Week award for putting up the best numbers this week in the Pacific League. In 27 at bats he hit .444 with 3 HR and 12 RBI. Cash has hit 5 taters this year while batting .325. He adds 4 doubles, along with 16 runs scored. He's 10th in the Pacific League in batting, 7th in homeruns and 2nd in RBI! The Atlantic League Player of the Week award goes to Charlize Theron*, Baton Rouge's starting second baseman. Charlize was on fire, hitting .538 with 2 HR and 7 RBI. While compiling an on base percentage of .422, Charlize hit .352 and slugged .484. He has collected 12 runs batted in this year. He's 6th in the Atlantic League in batting!
 
Sunday 5/8/2030: Ricky Steamboat turns in great performance against Chillicothe
CHILLICOTHE - Good things can happen when you throw strikes. And Ricky Steamboat did so today, in a 1-hit shutout against Chillicothe. The bid for a no-hitter was broken up when Herme Fortunato singled with two outs in the 5th inning. Steamboat (1-2) struck out 8 and walked none, throwing 61 of 90 pitches for strikes. 'Winning is the most important thing. And I gave my team all the support it needed!' Ryan Schrum provided Kansas with the offense Steamboat needed as he went 2 for 5, hitting a double. Kansas improved its record to 21-12, scoring 3 runs on 9 hits.
 
Wednesday 5/4/2030: Indianapolis' James out for 7 weeks
INDIANAPOLIS - Indianapolis' shortstop Frank James hurt himself in the 4th inning while making a routine throw to first base. He experienced serious pain and had to leave the game. Frank James will miss at least 7 weeks. After being examined by several specialists the diagnosis is clear: Strained Tricep Muscle. James has walked 11 times this year and posts a .333 OBP. While batting .258, 25 for 97, he has driven in 14 runs.

It's the 13th time that the Pacific League Player of the Week award goes to Orlando's centerfielder Manuel Vazquez. Manuel went 9 for 19 (.474), while hitting 3 HR and collecting 7 RBI. His record in April is 6-0. Jon Osterman pitched like a legend in April, and the Atlantic League named him Pitcher of the Month for his extraordinary performance. He struck out 23 hitters in his 5 starts, putting together a record of 2-1 while pitching 23 innings. His ERA in April was 1.58. Jon also fired a shutout.

Saturday 4/30/2030: Daisy Lazy* stars with 3000th career hit
AUSTIN - Kansas' players had every reason to congratulate Daisy Lazy*, who reached a milestone today, collecting his 3000th career hit! Along with his 3000 hits, Daisy collected 583 homeruns and 1797 RBI in 19 seasons. 'You dream about that as a kid, but when you reach such a milestone it's hard to believe. Fantastic.' He hit a grand slam in the 6th off Limas Sweed for number 3000. It's no secret that he will one day be in the Hall of Fame!
 
Monday 4/25/2030: Montana's Luthor wins Player of the Week award
Montana's rightfielder Lex Luthor had some reason to celebrate, as the league named him the Pacific League Player of the Week. Lex pounded opposing pitchers, hitting .522 with 3 HR and 11 RBI while slugging 1.043. He got at least one hit each game this week and is on a 7 game hitting streak right now. It's the 2nd time that the Atlantic League Player of the Week award goes to Louisiana's centerfielder William Markham. William was on fire, hitting .520 with 1 HR and 6 RBI. This year Markham drove in 17 and scored 17 runs while batting .421 with 3 taters. He's 2nd in the Atlantic League in batting and 3rd in RBI!
 
Saturday 4/23/2030: Boston's Mater out for 4 weeks
BOSTON - Boston's left-hander Tow Mater suffered a severe injury on Saturday and will be out for at least 4 weeks. In the 1st of the game against Birmingham he experienced pain in his throwing arm and had to leave the game. After x-rays were taken the diagnosis did not surprise many: Pulled Rotator Cuff Muscle. Surgery will be performed next week. Tow has a record of 1-1 this season, with an ERA of 5.51. In 16.1 Innings he was able to strike out 11 batters.

Carl Spackler wins his 2nd Player of the Week award. Pacific League pitchers couldn't figure out how to retire this guy all week long. Carl was on fire, hitting .438 with 2 HR and 10 RBI. GLASGOW - Glasgow's catcher Robert Ware suffered a season ending injury he was bowled over in a collision at home plate. Ware laid unconscious on the field for several minutes and had to be carried off the field. He will miss the entire season. Broken Wrist was the diagnosis after x-rays were taken in a nearby hospital. The message shocked teammates and team officials. Robert is hitting .297 this year, with 11 hits in 37 at bats. He has driven in 8 runs, slugging .459.
 
Thursday 4/14/2030: Tom Lafferty hits for the cycle against Century City
GLASGOW - Tom Lafferty hits 'em where they ain't. Century City certainly agrees as Glasgow's third baseman unloaded four hits and hitting for the cycle. A pitch from Art Weingartner in the 5th inning left his bat for a RBI double. A single in the 7th off Jose Quesada accounted for his 3rd hit. Number 4 in the 9th inning, a shot estimated at 362 feet, cleared the wall in right field. That drive completed the cycle, causing a smile on his face! Tom scored 2 runs, and he collected 6 RBI as well! This season has been a good one for him so far, as he has 14 hits in 34 at bats, resulting in a .412 batting average. 49 players in league history have so far hit for the cycle, including Tom. On 9/28/2029, Francis Lengyll was the last player to hit for the cycle.
 
Wednesday 4/13/2030: John Mayberry out for 7-8 weeks
TORONTO - Toronto's right-hander John Mayberry suffered a severe injury on Wednesday and will be out for at least 7-8 weeks. In the 5th of the game against Birmingham he experienced pain in his throwing arm and had to leave the game. After being taken to a local hospital, Mayberry was examined by specialists. The diagnosis revealed the sad truth, a Broken Elbow.
 
Monday 4/11/2030: McCracken and Holliday win Player of the Week award
The Pacific League Player of the Week award goes to Ernie McCracken, Montana's starting second baseman. Ernie was on fire, hitting .591 with 0 HR and 8 RBI. He hit in every game this week and extended his hitting streak to 8 games. Gotham's second baseman Doc Holliday had some reason to celebrate as well, as the league named him the Atlantic League Player of the Week. He had an on base percentage of .667 and hit .571, while driving in 6 runs.
 
Sunday 4/10/2030: Orlando has no chance in a 2-hitter by Notch Johnson
CENTURY CITY - Orlando's bats were sleeping, and Century City's Notch Johnson gave them no chance to wake up. He gave up just 2 hits in recording his 1st shutout of the season. 'That was one of the best games of my career. I had my stuff working very well today.' Johnson (1-1) was overpowering, fanning 12 while walking 2, throwing 128 pitches. Hank Moody helped Johnson at the plate, he got 2 hits in 4 AB, and collecting 2 RBI. Century City improved its record to 3-3, scoring 7 runs on 8 hits.
 
Saturday 4/9/2030: John Sheppard out for 5 weeks
CHILLICOTHE - Chillicothe is without its ace John Sheppard for at least 5 weeks. He injured himself while throwing a pitch to Laurana Kanan* in a game against Louisiana. His face showed signs of pain immediately after the ball left his hand. After being taken to a local hospital, Sheppard was examined by specialists. The diagnosis revealed the sad truth, a Strained Bicep Muscle.
